Dr. Don Towsley
has been named the
recipient of the 2007 IEEE Kobayashi Computers and Communications Award.
The
Kobayashi Award is a prestigious IEEE-wide technical field award
that recognizes "outstanding contributions to the integration of
computers and communications". Past recipients include many of the
pioneers and leading lights of networking, communications, information
theory and modeling (including 5 Turing award winners). Dr. Don Towsley
is being
recognized for fundamental contributions in modeling and analysis
techniques for networks, and in developing new network protocols and
mechanisms built upon the broad, principled, and rigorous foundations
that are the hallmarks of his research.
