The board of directors elected last year have been working jointly with the ACM on a proposal to renew the submission and publication process of papers presented to the SIGMETRICS conference. This would especially allow authors to (1) benefit from multiple deadlines within a year to prepare their work, (2) interact through a journal-style submission process that permits revisions, and (3) directly publish a complete version for archival. We recently received the approval from the ACM to create the Proceedings of the ACM Series on Computing Systems Modeling, Measurement and Evaluation to publish papers under this new process.
For more information, you can find:
A one-page flyer can be downloded.
A detailed description of the changes of the revised submission process.
Please join a SIGMETRICS community feedback session during the conference on Thursday at 5:45pm (i.e., immediately after technical session before the banquet). The goal of this session would be to inform all present, answer questions and comments (received online or during the session) about the transition before the final decision is made and any change implemented.
Please do not hesitate to share questions or comments in advance by filling (anonymously, no login required) the following form You can also make comments through email to Augustin Chaintreau augustin@cs.columbia.edu who coordinated the effort, or any member of our board listed below.
