Student Travel Grants

Student Grants Program

ACM SIGMETRICS 2020 is pleased to offer student travel grants to subsidize travel costs for attending the conference. The number and amount of the awards will depend on the number of applications received and the available funds. We anticipate grants in the range of $500-$1000 per student. The grant money will be awarded in the form of a reimbursement check after the conference. While the grant will cover conference costs, students will have to pay the registration fee as usual according to the registration rates and deadlines; the costs will then be reimbursed.

Eligibility

The student travel grant is for students at US Universities or for students who are US citizens. Students here refer to undergraduate or graduate levels, but NOT postdocs.

How to Apply

For students at US Universities or for students who are US citizens: Please fill the application form here. These grants are generously sponsored by NSF.

The deadline for submitting the application form is May 1st, 2020. We may extend the deadline depending on the number of applications. We hope to make decisions within a week of the application deadline. The exact instructions for reimbursement will be conveyed to the awardees after the selection process. If you have any questions about the application process, please email the Student Activities Chairs, Stratis Ioannidis (ioannidis@ece.neu.edu) and Bo Ji (boji@temple.edu).

Criteria

Applicants with documented financial need and those that are presenting at the conference or an associated workshop will be given preference. We also strongly encourage the applications from students who belong to traditionally underrepresented groups in computer science or students who will attend the conference for the first time; a subset of the funds is specifically designated to support students from these groups.
