The ACM SIGMETRICS / IFIP Performance 2024 conference will be held at Venice International University on San Servolo Island, located in the Venetian Lagoon.
Who should be interested in the following?
Those arriving a few days before the conference or/and leaving some days after it.
The days of the conference are not subject to any fee.

Venice Access Fee

Starting 2024 the Municipality of Venice has introduced the payment of a fee to enter the city on particular dates. While the specific conferences dates are NOT involved, if you intend to arrive in Venice a few days prior to the event or extend you stay afterwards, the following information may be of interest to you.
PLEASE NOTE: The metropolitan city of Mestre is part of the municipality of Venice.
On the days June 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 of 2024, entry to the city of Venice is subject to payment of an access fee, unless the visitor falls into one of the categories that entitle them to exemption from payment.

Individuals falling into the following categories may request exemption from the fee BY REGISTERING AND REQUIRING THE EXEMPTION VOUCHER:

• Guest of an accommodation facility located in the municipality of Venice
• Workers in the Ancient City of Venice or in the minor islands
• Residents in Veneto or in the Metropolitan Cit of Venice
• Relatives of resident in the Ancient City of Venice or in the minor islands
• Students or people registered in the temporary population register
• Participants in a sporting event
• Owners of property in the Municipality of Venice or holders of a rental contract for property in Venice

Exemption Voucher can be obtained here: https://cda.comune.venezia.it/en/richiestaEsenzione Individuals falling into the following categories are AUTOMATICALLY EXEMPTED from the fee payment:

• Minors under the age of 14 (identity document is accepted as sufficient proof)
• Residents of the Municipality of Venice and individuals born in the Municipality of Venice (identity document is accepted as sufficient proof)
• Holders of the European Disability Card and their accompanying person (presentation of the Disability Card is accepted as sufficient proof)
• Members of the Armed Forces and the Police, including the Fire Brigade (presentation of their service card is accepted as sufficient proof)

Moreover, access fee is not charged from 4.00 p.m. to 8.30 a.m.
