Student Registration Grant Program

Sigmetrics 2021 is pleased to offer student travel grants to subsidize registration costs for attending the conference. The number and amount of the awards will depend on the number of applications received and the available funds. The grant money will be awarded in the form of a coupon code, which the student will enter during registration and will allow the student to avoid paying a registration fee.

Only students may apply to the Registration Grant Program, where “students” here refers to undergraduate or graduate levels, but not postdocs.

How to apply

All student applicants should fill out the application form here.

These grants are generously sponsored by the National Science Foundation for students at US universities or students who are US citizens, and our industry sponsors (Didi and Facebook) for students who are neither studying in the US nor US citizens.

The deadline for submitting the application form is May 30th. We may extend the deadline depending on the number of applications. We will process applications on a rolling basis, but expect to communicate all decisions to applicants by June 7.

The instructions for reimbursement will be conveyed to the awardees once selected. Applicants should wait to hear back before registering, as the award will be made in the form of a coupon code. We are not able to reimburse students who register prior to hearing back about the grant results. If you have any questions about the application process, please email the Student Activities Chair, Giulia Fanti.

Applicants with financial need and those that are presenting at the conference or an associated workshop will be given preference. We also strongly encourage students from traditionally underrepresented groups in computer science to apply; a subset of the funds is specifically designated to support students from underrepresented groups.
